ducks, birds and chicks.
just last week my mum saw this cute duck standing next to our pool. she was kinda amused. i too was. then this week, i saw a duck IN our pool. i was like "oh how cute." and so i went out to check it out. i was HORRIFIED by how dirty it was! argh. so i scared the duck away out of anger. i thought it got my point right. the next day, it brought a friend. one was basking in the sun, in the pool, the other, just watching. oh man. i had to run out to scare it away. argh. the pool was kinda dirty so i had to test the water. i realised it wasn't all the poor ducks fault. the pool ran out of chlorine which is probably why the ducks were having fun in our pool. so anyway, we have to add chlorine and put the pool cover on.
funny how our backyard is a breeding spot for our little friends of the environment. this morning boon and i were having kaya toast for breakfast in the backyard, and i spotted an egg shell on the pavement. and i was like "ooh the ducks had a chick!" that was my first reaction, 'cos i was telling him about the ducks... it was kinda near out entrance to the backyard... and well he looked up, and it was a little birdie with a little make-shift nest of a few sticks. we don't know what to do with the bird, it's chick and it's nest. but i think we have to get it to move.
lucky in both instances, i had witnesses. so i won't sound like i'm making up stories.
